As our business grows we are constantly asked about our bathroom remodeling ideas. We have remodeled dozens of bathrooms and notice defnite trends. Here are our top ten bathroom remodeling ideas as evidenced by our customer's most popular request.
Top 10 Bathroom remodeling ideas
- lots of lighting- our customers like to install several cans in many locations in the bathroom. Over the tub, in the shower, in the middle of the room. They usually like to have them on a dimmer.
- Jacuzzi tub- We probably install jet tubs twice as often as not.
- Custom Showers- We get lots of request for custom tile or stone such as slate and travertine in the shower.
- Glass doors- Many of our customers are opting for solid glass shower doors. They are expensive at around $1000 but many find it worth the expense.
- Stone countertops- Most of our customers are asking for granite, silestone or marble countertops. Whether its a double or single vanity does not matter in a bathroom remodel.
- Vents- if your doing a bathroom remodel you will likely want one of these installed with heat.
- Extra plugs- one double GFCI plug is not cutting it these days with all the electrical appliances in bathrooms. Minimum is 2 plugs maybe even three.
- Custom tile floors- Standard tile is out, our customers prefer stone, hex or small tiles.
- Double hung LOE windows- If your doing a major remodel, you should consider upgrading the old window. You will cut down on wasted energy and improve the look of the bathroom.
- Solar tubes- It can be hard to get natural light into a bathroom since most of the wall space is used for the tub, shower and mirrors. Solar tubes are a great way to get natural light into the middle of the room.
