Completed Kitchen Remodel on Junius
17 November 2008
We have just completed a very nice kitchen remodel in Junius Heights. The kitchen is quite small but we made maximum usage of the space and the result is the client has lots of storage and it looks very open. The countertops are Vitrazzo which is a green product made fromĀ recycled glass and cement. The cabinets are painted wood with glass uppers and in cabinet lights.
Preston Hollow Remodel Progressing
11 January 2008
This large 660sf kitchen remodel is progressing nicely. We have been green tagged on all rough ins and framing. We installed 2 large steel beams that weighed over 1200 lbs each. We have now moved on to sheetrock and are about to move on to texture. We are still waiting on our windows to be delivered which is expected next week.
Large Kitchen Remodel in Preston Hollow
15 December 2007
We are currently involved in a 600 sf remodel in Preston Hollow. The kitchen is a conversion from several smaller rooms and sense all the walls are being removed we had to install steel beams in the ceiling to bear the load of the second floor. It has been quite a process getting the beams inside, jacked up and welded. But they went in without a hitch and are in place.
Mortgage troubles in Dallas
28 August 2007
Since I am in construction and I deal with lots of new home owners it is imperative that I keep up with the developing mortgage tsunami coming our way. There has been a lot of talk about a shortage of liquidity and that loans have essentially dried up. I have even heard a few pundits brag that the worst is over. I just stumbled across this chart which indicates that the subprime ARM reset market does not peak until Mar of 2008. In fact is shows that we will be dealing with twice of the volume of resets and likely twice the volume of defaults. Of course we all know who is to blame for this B.S. Greenspan and BUsh, who kept money too cheap for too long to prop up the economy and cover up the massive deficit spending that has been going one for too long.
Home remodel near Marsh and Royal
9 August 2007
We have been working on a large project around Marsh Lane. The client had us commence with the kitchen project and added both baths to the project. Which has made this a much larger project than we first anticipated. We are currently rocking and working on subfloors and tile.
We have taken on a large remodel on the west side of Dallas. The kitchen is a complete gut and redo with new cabinets, moving several appliances around. The floor was ripped up and new hardwoods are going to be laid. We had to install a header in the attic to make a clean transition from the kitchen to the Den area. This is really going to open up the space.
Custom Kitchen Remodel in Lakewood
15 July 2007
We are close to completing a custom kitchen remodel in Lakewood on Wildgrove. We completed removed the cabinets and appliances and are installing new shaker style maple cabinets in a natural finish. The countertops are absolute black and look great. The backsplash is a high end tile and slate mix that looks great. This kitchen will merge a tudor style house with modern finishes.
Commencing Kitchen Remodel in Lakewood on Wildgrove
22 June 2007
We have demo’ed a fairly recent remodel in a Tudor style home in Lakewood. It is a large kitchen and the previous owners had given it a country look. While the cabinets looked okay, the counter tops and the finish out was a cute country kitchen that is so popular in the rural areas of Texas. One of my least favorite looks. The back splash had roosters, pigs, and cows in the tiles and the tile pattern was a black and white checker board. So the client wanted it all removed and we are installing a more contemporary look. It will have shaker style cabinets with Absolute Black Granite, and lots of lighting over, under and inside the cabinets.
We just completed replacing 2 rotten double doors for a place in the Oak Lawn area. These were single light fixed doors and they are rotting becuase the porch had stone put on it that slightly slopes towards the doors. This time around we used pressure treated wood, but unless the owner redoes the patio they will rot out again in 10- 15 years.
Lakemere Kitchen Remodel is Done
18 May 2007
It took 6 weeks from start to finish and a few items of project creep occurred but the kitchen is done and it looks fantastic. Definitely one of the nicest kitchens we have done in the past year. You can see pictures here: Lake Highlands Kitchen Remodel. The clients loves it and professed that he wasn’t at all annoyed to not have had a kitchen for 6 weeks. I highly doubt that, but now he has a fantastic kitchen to have company see.
