This Prairie style house from the 1920's had a great exterior and a rental interior. The kitchen was dated and tacky with Formica countertops and cabinets that had seen better days. We took a small 10x12 room and maximized space while keeping it from looking small. The result is a beautfiul kitchen that looks original to the house with painted shaker cabinets and modern appliances. The uppers are glass faced shaker with beadboard backed interiors that are lighted with pucks inside and under. The sink is a custom ordered slate sink with Vetrazzo glass countertops. Even the ceiling is the original ship lap which we accented with screen moulding and painted.
